China has unveiled an engine that could be a Tesla beater. The engine could in fact reshape the electric vehicle market entirely. With incredible statistics like 30,000 rpm and an additional 50 km in range, the new design by Chinese car maker GAC could be a the final nail in Tesla’s coffin. The engine features a strange new design that is ring shaped and is apparently more efficient than the current crop of electric engines found on the market. Will this lead to China being the dominant power in the EV and alternative power sector?

How will this new engine affect the sales of EV’s worldwide?

The new engine unveiled by GAC will be fitted to their new designs of EV’s under their subsidiary brand Hyptec. And will be rolled off the production line soon in an attempt by the Chinese car maker to make a significant mark on the EV market. With the world ever focused on the appeal and popularity of the electric car, the new engine is a sign that the Chinese automakers are focused on the modern day consumer.

With an incredible 30,000 revs per minute and an additional 50 kilometers in range, it must be said that the prospect of these engines coming to a car near you is a promising one. The Chinese company’s first attempt at making a fully electric sports car has the world sitting up and taking notice. With a 0-60 time under 2 seconds, the new sports car being developed under Hyptec could shake the automotive world.

With the emergence of the Chinese made EV, the world certainly understood that any country is capable of making a good car. And the days of products coming out of China having a reputation for being cheaply made are long gone. China is producing technology at an amazing rate and are known for the ability to build something better, for cheaper.

Is this the right move for a company trying to enter a market dominated by Tesla?

While the American and Japanese make massive investments in the future of the automobile, the Chinese are taking full advantage of their position in the global market as a leader in electric vehicles. The engine has the potential to change the EV and make it more powerful and last longer. With the range and charging times being a major drawback for hesitant buyers, the extra 50 kilometers is definitely a positive aspect.

The world’s EV makers have made huge strides forward in the last few decades. 20 years ago the electric vehicle would have never been seen as the future of personal transport. Yet, here we are. Tesla is officially the world’s largest producer of EV’s, but if the minds behind this engine have their way, that title will soon be a thing of the past.

With Elon Musk constantly in the headlines, the average EV driver has become hesitant to even think about buying a Tesla. They pioneered the EV in its early days and has become world famous for making the electric vehicle affordable and reliable. But their reputation has been hit with a huge dent due to Musk’s actions. This is where companies like GAC and its new engine could step in.

Can the Chinese built design set a new standard for the EV market?

With Tesla in the headlines for all the wrong reasons, China could set the standard as the new place to go for a reliable and fast electric vehicle. This new engine has promised a future that we can all get onboard with. The planet needs us to find a replacement for fossil fuel dependency and the EV is definitely an option. But the lack of power and range has always been a problem. Even the best minds in the automotive industry have struggled to improve on the initial design. But this new engine with its new shape and performance statistics can be the answer we’ve been looking for.
